Creative Care - An Arts in Healthcare Program

Creative Care, An Arts in Healthcare Program is a multidisciplinary creative arts program serving patients, families and caregivers in healthcare communities in the greater St. Petersburg region of Florida. Funded by Allegany Franciscan Ministries from 2008 to 2011, the Creative Care program currently serves more than 100 participants per week in four local healthcare settings including All Children’s Hospital, St. Anthony’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, Suncoast Hospice and Benedict Haven Group Home.

The Creative Care program trains professional teaching artists in visual art, dance, music, and the literary arts. These artists work in individual and group settings to address the whole person in the healthcare setting.
