Michael graduated from the Transition Program at Creative Clay and started attending the Community Arts Program in 2016. Michael is enthusiastic in his art making process and his creations seem to emerge from the page or canvas to reveal bears and shapes of other animals in his abstract work. He is known to exclaim aloud in a joyful manner upon seeing his finished work.
Michael knows about artists’ materials and how to mix colors. He favors bright bold colors. He recently discovered oil pastels and learned the technique of blending his colors resulting in beautiful, flowing movement of strong color.
Michael expressed that he is “happy when I make art,” and that his inspiration is “in my head, on the top of my noggin’.”
When he is away from Creative Clay, Michael enjoys pizza and video games.
