The Artwork of Eric Bristow

The Sylvia Rusche Agency will be featuring its eighth installment in a series of rotating art displays at at 104 1st Street North. The Artwork of Creative Clay's Eric Bristow will be featured with a reception on Friday, March 2 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Creative Clay member artist Eric Bristow is from Paradise, CA, a small Northern California town located in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Bristow, a navy veteran, is a talented, independent artist who prefers working amongst a community of makers. The Creative Clay studios offer him such an environment.  Bristow chooses to work in fine tipped marker pen and color pencils on paper, and executes these drawings with the detail of a fine illustrator.  His portrayals of rabbits in whimsical settings led to a commission for Creative Clay Fest 2017.  His drawing of a rabbit with an electric guitar appears on t-shirts for the festival and are sold in the Good Folk Gallery.  Eric also invents and draws intricate contraptions that move coal and other objects through a maze of tracks and chutes from one end of the paper to another.  This beautiful series of work, framed for the gallery, and future exhibitions, absorbs the viewer for long lengths of time.

Savor the EDGE at Ferg's

On Friday, April 28th, from 6:00-9:00 pm, St. Petersburg's EDGE District showcases its FLAVORS, FASHIONS, and FABULOUS ART at the event, Savor the EDGE!

This event celebrates the eclectic character of the EDGE District and its unique culinary, fashion, and art identity.

Located between Dr. MLK & 16th Streets and 1st Avenues N & S, the EDGE District has become the fastest growing area of St. Petersburg and one of the most vibrant districts in the region. From a blighted state in 2014, the district has been the focus of revitalization efforts by the EDGE Business District Association, a nonprofit operating the EDGE District Main Street program. The Main Street has made great strides via extensive advocacy on parking and the EDGE master plan, and its programs providing business support and regional and state-wide promotional campaigns, among other projects. All Savor the EDGE ticket sales and a portion of alcohol sales will help support this important EDGE District Main Street work.

This event is in the spacious outdoor courtyard at one of the oldest and most beloved venues in the District, Ferg's Sports Bar & Grill (1320 Central Ave.). It will feature an exciting evening of entertainment for guests, including live jazz music, food specialties from all the top EDGE eateries, a fashion show featuring the styles of top EDGE boutiques, an art show and painting demonstrations by EDGE artists, and 50-50 and grand prize gift drawings!
