Creative Clay and St. Petersburg Opera Company Announce Giulio Cesare (Julius Caesar) -Inspired Art Exhibit
Creative Clay’s partnership with St. Petersburg Opera Company continues this season with their production of “Giulio Cesare,” and a Giulio Cesare-inspired art exhibit featuring original works by Creative Clay member artists. This collaboration invites audiences into the world of Handel’s opera Giulio Cesare, reimagined through the lens of the Creative Clay studio artists. The featured works are inspired by George Frideric Handel’s opera Giulio Cesare (Julius Caesar), celebrating the drama, music, and timeless story through visual art. The exhibit will debut in the Mirella Cimato Gallery’s “Passaggio” at St. Petersburg Opera Company, located at 2145 1st Ave S, St. Petersburg, FL 33712.
Open to the public for January 10 ArtWalk, 5 pm - 9pm, and Monday to Friday from 1 to 5 pm. The exhibit runs through June 30, 2025.
Since 2014, the St. Petersburg Opera Company and Creative Clay have partnered on an exhibit each year at the opera’s “Il Passaggio,” adjacent to the Mirella Cimato Gallery. Artists from Creative Clay attend rehearsals of the current opera and sketch as they watch. They return from the studio to create their paintings. Creative Clay has exhibited artwork for the following productions: West Side Story, South Pacific, Music Man, Pinocchio, Fidelio, Turandot, Samson and Delilah and Carmen. Thank you, St. Pete Opera Company!
