Artlink Takamatsu–St. Petersburg Mail Art Show
Creative Clay is excited to announce the Artlink Takamatsu–St. Petersburg Mail Art Show at the Morean Arts Center from October 4-22, 2025, with the opening reception on Oct. 11 from 5-8 p.m. Exhibit will include the music videos created in the partnership.
Artlink Takamatsu-St. Petersburg is a wonderful partnership between Heart Art Link in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture on the island of Shikoku in Japan and Creative Clay in St. Petersburg, Florida, United States. Both organizations are run by professional artists who mentor artists with developmental disabilities in a variety of media and disciplines.

Playful Printmaking: Workshop with Joy Swanson
Join multi-media artist Joy Swanson at Creative Clay for Playful Printmaking and create a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork. Pre-registration is required. • $50 per person • Space is limited.
Join in the fun creating colorful and unique prints using a Gel Plate. You will employ lots of different texture makers, stencils, masks, and more to add depth and layers to your prints, as well as ideas for using your finished pieces. Supplies included. Come join us!!
JOY SWANSON is a retired Early Childhood Educator. Originally from northern Montana and Colorado. Joy works in a variety of mediums and art styles. She loves to learn and experiment with new art mediums and products. Joy’s current favorite mediums are Alcohol Ink, Mixed Media and Scratch Art. She has taught various workshops in the Pinellas Co. area for local art groups. Joy is a resident artist at Stirling Art Studios & Gallery in Dunedin, Florida.

ZINES & BOOKS exhibition, June 22 - December 7, 2025 opening reception July 19 at the Los Angeles Downtown Public Library Getty Gallery
An exhibit of printed materials: poetry books, image books, catalogs, and zines of any size or style by and about progressive studio artists, including the illustrated book of poetry, About This Life, by Gina Kenney, Creative Clay artist.
Curated by Paige Wery, Gallery Director at Tierra del Sol, a progressive art studio in Los Angeles, in collaboration with Thought Projects, Jessica Hough, and Andrew Werner. The exhibition celebrates artwork and the history of progressive art studios across the U.S supporting artists with disabilities.

Encaustic Enhancements: Workshop with Gina White and Francine Michel
Join encaustic artists Gina White and Francine Michel at Creative Clay for Encaustic Enhancements and create a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork. Pre-registration is required. • $50 per person • Space is limited.
Encaustic paint, an ancient art medium made from melted wax and pigment, is incredibly versatile. Becoming familiar with the different ways it can be manipulated is an important part of working with this material. During this two-hour introductory workshop, we will touch on several techniques that add color, texture and highlights to your wax piece. We will work with oil pigment sticks, oil pastels, pan pastels, charcoal, and rice paper to enhance and embellish encaustic wood panels, creating unique one-of-a-kind artwork! Supplies included. Come join us!!
Francine Michel considers herself a lifelong learner and never gets tired of the journeys on which art takes her. She is a member of International Encaustic Artists (IEA) and active with the Florida chapter of IEA (Florida Wax). Francine exhibits her work throughout the state of Florida and loves to share her knowledge with others as she paints and teaches outdoors in our wonderful local parks and preserves.
Gina White has a passion for building community through the arts. She is a signature member of the National Association of Women Artists (NAWA) and its Florida chapter (NAWAFL). She is a member of International Encaustic Artists (IEA) and active with the Florida chapter of IEA (Florida Wax). Gina regularly exhibits her work and teaches about the encaustic painting process.

Carmen-Inspired Art Exhibit
Creative Clay and St. Petersburg Opera Company Announce Carmen-Inspired Art Exhibit
Creative Clay’s partnership with St. Petersburg Opera Company continues this season with their production of “Carmen,” and a Carmen-inspired art exhibit featuring original works by Creative Clay member artists. This collaboration invites audiences into the world of Bizet’s opera "Carmen," reimagined through the lens of folk and outsider art. The exhibit will debut in the Mirella Cimato Gallery’s “Passaggio” at St. Petersburg Opera Company, located at 2145 1st Ave S, St. Petersburg, FL 33712.
Open to the public for May 10 ArtWalk, 5 pm - 9pm, and Monday to Friday from 1 to 5 pm. The exhibit runs through June 30, 2025.

St Pete Beach Library Exhibit TRANSPORTATION
TRANSPORTATION, a new exhibit by the artists of Creative Clay is on display at the St. Pete Beach Library April 1 - 30, 2025.
Creative Clay and the St. Pete Beach Library present the Dewey Discoveries Exhibits, where our artists create art inspired by quarterly themes from the Dewey Decimal system. The theme for this quarter is Transportation, and the inspired artwork will be on display at the library April 1 - 30, 2025.
The library is located at 365 73rd Ave., St. Pete Beach, FL 33706 and its hours are: Monday & Wednesday 10am - 8pm, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 10am - 6pm and Saturday 10am -2pm.
Additionally, we do Draw-Sketch-Color Inclusive Art Hour with Creative Clay where the public is invited to come make art with our member artists at the library every fourth Thursday of the month from 10am-11am.

Celebrate 30 years at Creative Clay with the ArtWalk opening reception at our Good Folk Gallery and an exhibition featuring works by the gallery’s artists. Open to the public, the exhibit presents recent paintings, sculptures, and ceramics made for the exhibit alongside older works.

Art Market features a variety of ceramics, paintings, greeting cards with a wide range of subject matter. Creative Clay’s artists are always creating hand-made greeting cards and we have the most charming, funny and endearing cards in town! Member artists are also available to do live portrait-drawing for a donation. 100% of portrait donations go directly to the artists. Come visit First Friday Art Market and support your local artists.
