A Collage of Color By Scott McIvor
Scott with "Signs You See While Driving", sold in our last auction
My name is Scott McIvor. I was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and I moved here with my parents and my two sisters when I was six or seven after my dad got a job here. He was a cardiologist, but he is no longer alive. Now I live with my mom.
I am a new Member Artist at Creative Clay. I like to make artwork. My sister, Melissa, is an artist, too. She lives in Japan and she makes paintings of Japan. Sometimes she sends them to us.
"Words of a Diamond" Multi-Media Painting & Collage
I like to make all kinds of art. My favorite artwork is making board games. I like to draw and paint the board, and I write all the questions for the game, and I make the cards for them. And I make the rules. Sometimes you get bonuses when you play. The first one I made was a Dolly Parton game. My mom bought it.
When I make collages and paintings, my favorite subject is making the signs I see when I’m riding in the car. I have lots of art with signs on them. I like to use lots of colors. When I work on my paintings, I think about things I see, and things I hear. First, I make the signs. Then I paint colors I like on my art board. Next, I glue the signs on all the colors. Then I finish it. I am inspired by the signs, and also when I see other artwork.
Scott with a recent collage painting including letters, numbers, and words.
When I’m not here, I go bowling with my friends, and I like to have Mother Sundays, when I hang out with my mom and do stuff with her.
In the future, I want to be nice to people so I can make more friends. I also want to spell words better, so my signs are correct. I would like to create a picture of flowers. And I just want to learn more about how to paint.
